How to modify boot.img and Recovery.img

You can try this to fix and upgrade android Smartphone according to your device specification.

Also applicable to Mediatek devices.

Things you need:

1. Updated Winrar download

2. IMG tool download

3. Boot.img or Recovery.img (file you want to modify)

Step 1. Extract the file and open the folder: and place the stock boot.img file

Step 2. Double click "unpack.bat" the you will see this 

Step 3. Do the same process with the boot.img file of custom rom. make a new folder and extract again the              IMGTOOL

Step 4 . Copy the Stock Kernel file to custom rom boot.img file folder. 

Step 5. Double click "Repack.bat" then you'll see new and old boot.img file, now you can use the new                        boot.img to your custom rom,

Now...

To Modify your Recovery.img, 

Step 1. Rename the recovery.img to boot.img. and place the boot.img to same folder like this picture bellow

Step 2. Double click "unpack.bat" the you will see this 

Step 3. Do the same process with the boot.img file of custom rom. make a new folder and extract again the              IMGTOOL

Step 4 . Copy the Stock Kernel file to custom rom boot.img file folder. 

Step 5. Double click "Repack.bat" then you'll see new and old boot.img file, now you can use the new                        boot.img to your Smartphone.

Step 6. Rename the new one or the finished product. to recovery.img.. violA... it is now READY to Flash.

Before you begin the procedure you must do some PRAYERS. wahahaha. lot of it. lol...

Step 1. Set alarm.2:30am, why? Because that time is the best time to do this.

Step 2. Insert your LTE sim to Device you want to use to make this thing work.

Step 3. Use the FREE internet of the new sim. and download a file from mediafire or any using IDM
            you can try this if you want:
          1.   Mortal kombat X Data  HERE
          2.   Mortal Kombat X apk   HERE

Step 4. If the IDM download rich 15% Click "pause"

Step 5. Load  30 pesos to your LTE sim,

Step 6. Register any promo with internet Surfing Promo. like 5 pesos for 15 min.

Step 6.1 (optional) Register two promo 1 hr internet surfing or 15 min internet surfing.

Step 7. Click "Resume" after that if the download rich 20% Click "Pause" again

Step 8. If you did a good timing well congrats .!.!.!

Step 9. Turn Off the Data of LTE sim.why? the purpose is to disconnect from internet. temporarily.

and the last Step.
        10. Wait until 4:15 am SHARP!! Standard time. PH, Click Resume download.

 Now, there’s an easier way to flash img files on any rooted Android device using an app called Flashify.  I ran into this problem while trying to flash a modded version of TWRP on my HTC One.  I wanted to find an easier way for users to install IMG files instead of using fastboot.  Also, there are many times when GooManager app doesn’t work and fails to install TWRP recovery.

For those frustrating situations, Flashify app makes flashing image files simple.

Step 1. First, make sure you have a rooted smartphone or tablet device.

Step 2. Next, download the image file you want to install.  In this example, I have downloaded a TWRP IMG file to my phone.

Step 3. Install and run the Flashify app.

Step 4. Open the App Flashify and Allow in super user

Step 5.  Choose “Recovery image” for recovery images like CWM or TWRP.  (You could even flash stock recovery images and unroot btw.)

There’s other options like “Boot image” if you want to flash boot image (this could work well on older phones like HTC One X with S-On, where you are forced to use fastboot to install boot image.  Just flash boot image before installing ROM.).

 Step 6. Next, choose the file you want to install by choosing “Choose a file”.

If you are installing standard CWM, TWRP, or Philz, it can even download the image file for you.

 Step 7. Choose one of your file explorer apps.  If you don’t see any, try downloading ES File Explorer app from Play Store.

Step 8. Browse your storage and choose the IMG file you want to flash.

Step 9.  Choose “Yup”.  That’s it!

Step 10. Wait until Done and you can now reboot in recovery mode with the new version. 

I think there may be many instances where this app may be very useful but certainly in this case, it saved me few minutes of connecting my phone to my computer, running fastboot, and installing this custom modded version of TWRP I wanted.
